We’ve chosen our long-standing partner in Frome, Palmer Street Bottle, as the first feature to kick off our new blogpost series, where we showcase and find out more about the companies that our members can benefit from discounts with.
Palmer Street Bottle is a distinctive bar and bottle shop located near The Old Church School and Motorworks in Frome, Somerset. Known for its inviting atmosphere, it offers a curated selection of craft beers, fine wines and spirits. We caught up with them to find out more about the bar and what it has to offer.
Tell us about Palmer Street Bottle, what you do and how it all started?
In early April 2017, Simon Bowden was eager to bring the best beers, ciders, wines and cheese to Frome – and so Palmer Street Bottle was born! We strive to be a one-stop shop for all things delicious and indulgent, giving people the opportunity to sit in and relax with a tipple, or grab a bag full of all the ingredients needed for a big night in.
What are your favourite things about Frome?
Frome is bursting with so many unique, independently-owned shops and cafes. It’s a very inspiring and compassionate community to be a part of.
What sets the bar apart from others in Frome?
Palmer Street Bottle stands out from other venues in Frome in many ways. We serve a variety of specialty drinks – from rich double IPAs to light organic wines. Over the last year we have expanded our selection of non-alcoholic and gluten-free beers to truly cater to everyone! Our 7 taps, wine offering and can selection is on constant rotation, bringing the newest, most exciting brews to Frome.
Give us some recommendations, what are the most popular things on offer?
Our team are always up for the challenge of helping you discover your new favourite bevy! We are constantly expanding our knowledge, ensuring we can sling the perfect drink for every occasion. Our margaritas have developed a keen following recently – with three varieties they never get old!
Do you have any exciting upcoming plans for the bar that you’d like to share with us?
We’ve always got some exciting events brewing at Palmer Street. On the last weekend of every month we work with a different brewery and host a Tap Takeover. These events often involve merch giveaways, the brewery’s best beers, and of course great vibes!
Free Cheese Thursday is on the last Thursday of every month, from 6-9pm we offer a personal cheese board with each drink purchased.
Every few months on rotation we hold some exciting events such as : ‘The Bottle : Unplugged’, showcasing some of Fromes fantastic musicians, and our seasonal quizzes to test your smarts!
We are also hosting a few informal life drawing classes with Sam, DM him on @fromedrawing if you’re interested!
Finally, this summer we will be putting on our craft beer festival ‘Hazy Days’. Last year was an absolute triumph with loads of craft beer royalty so keep an eye out for this years lineup!
